Day 1- Build an Army So why Mega Vorgax and not Ultra? Looking at the Team Covenant Rankings, you can see that Ultra earns itself a 4, while the Mega version comes in as a 2. It is important to me to use a monster that is both not an auto-win or an auto-lose. To this end, Mega Vorgax fits the bill. I always feel kind of dirty in games if I am using something perceived as "cheesy" or "broken". At the same time, I have felt the pain of playing games where even when you do everything right, you still have no chance to win. Don't get me wrong, I don't think you have to win to have fun, but I prefer the feeling of satisfaction a hard fought and deserved victory brings. There is something to be said for earning a reward through hard work, skill and determination.
The Mega Vorgax gets a 2 which means its a competitive Monster, but likely has some weaknesses as well. I'll be honest. At this point I really don't know by just looking at Mega Vorgax, why he gets a 2 rather than a 1 or a 3 or a 4. But, that's what this entire exercise is about. I want to learn what makes this monster tick. What makes him good and what makes him bad. So, here we go...
Units This is going to be relatively simple. As I alluded to earlier, I have never used Vorgax and, in fact, only ever played the Planet Eaters once. For these reasons, my initial unit selection will be a simple exercise in choosing a bit of everything in order to get a better feel for what they all do.
3 x Belchers (1 Elite 2 Grunts) 2 x Crawlers 2 x Destructomites 3 x Explodomites (1 Elite 2 Grunt)
to be continued...
